With few days left to the final awards ceremony how do you feel about being a nominee in the 2023 Ghana Tertiary Fashion Awards and what are your expectations for the night.
Finding the words that can accurately express the good feeling I’m experiencing now as a Nominee in the 2023 Ghana Tertiary Fashion Awards is even difficult considering how Prestigious and widely recognized this award is.
My expectation for the night is to meet and interact with top professionals in the Fashion Industry and build lasting relationships with every one of them.
What inspires your work as creative and what are your plans for the near future.
A very vital and sensitive aspect of Fashion Design is your inspiration as a designer. In view of this, my inspiration emanates from nature, sometimes sea creatures, wildlife, fruits, landscape, plants etc which end up bringing out explicit and unique designs for Fashion lovers to admire.
My plans for the near future are:
- Become a successful Fashion Stylist, helping to bring Fashion trends to life and creating unique looks, mostly creating my own clothing or accessories label.
- Put to use my knowledge and experience acquired in Fashion to train and mentor upcoming Fashion professionals.
- Creating clothing and accessories that are both Fashionable and Timeless
What aspects of the fashion industry would you to help improve or have a positive impact on?
The aspect of Fashion Industry I would help improve encourage people of all ages, heights, colors, shapes and all sizes to be adorned in what they feel good about. I personally feel most designs are created taking into account model shapes that are super tall and supper skinny ignoring the plus size models. Consequently, discouraging people who fall outside this body shapes and heights from adorning such designs. Moving forward, I will consider models portraying a more realistic image and send positive body images to women at large taking into account the average height (5.3” and 120 pounds) when creating designs for women.

What skills have you learned and developed during your study in your institution
These skills were developed during my study at York City Fashion Academy: Eagerness to succeed, Visualization and sketching skills, Excellent Sewing skills, Effective Communication Skills, Better Fashion Illustration skills, Excellent client service…
What are some challenges that you face as young talent, and how do you overcome them?
Challenges faced as young talents are Lack of Capital to start up which is being overcomed by showcasing unique student designs created by myself whilst in school and on my graduation ceremony which has attracted a lot of voluntary donations from all and sundry. Moreover, a challenge of highly competitive market is also being overcomed by sewing for close relatives and friends for exhibition purposes which goes a long to advertise my brand to the general public. In addition, showcasing and advertising my brand and designs on all social media handles.
